The blouse has attractive designs on its sleeves, and this draws more attention to the top half of the model, diverting the attention away from her short-ER legs. The plain top is not too harsh, and paired with the floral skirts, it creates a good combination.

The skirt is at mid-thigh length, which enables the model's legs to appear longer. It is also tight at the waist area, in order to make the waist appear more narrow than the hip, creating an illusion of an almost-hourglass figure. The floral patterns on the skirt create a balance between the plain top, so that the outfit is not too flashy, nor too plain.

However, this outfit can also pass for a casual look. Thus, this is not a very good choice for a formal occasion.

This outfit is a white tube-dress with light-coloured ruffles across the chest and down the side.
The dress has a white plain canvas and this prevents the design of the dress to be too overpowering. In his case, simplicity is divine. Too much decoration on a dress can make it look cheap. The material of the dress is satin-like and this material allows the outfit to look chic and modern.
The ruffles give the dress a splash of colour and it runs down the side of the dress, giving the model an illusion of a taller body. The ruffles are also useful in giving a youthful look. The dress ends above the knee, so it does not make the legs appear shorter.
Despite being a tube-dress, it is very much safe to wear. At the chest area, there are strong elastic bands and this provides support for the dress and thus, the outfit will not drop easily.

This outfit is a spaghetti strapped dress with stripped patterns.
First of all, there is a good combination of colours. Light pink stripes over a white canvas are pleasant to the eye as it is not overpowering.
If you look carefully, the stripes at the waist are diagonal. This provides an illusion in smaller waist, and gives the model a more curved figure. The strpes at other parts of the dress are horizontal. As the model is thin, this provides an image of a more proportionate body.
The dress' hem ends at mid-thigh, and thus, the model's legs will appear to be longer.
However, the outfit is made of nylon, which gives it a cheap look. Thus, it is not the best option for a formal occasion.

This outfit is a ruffles dress in cream with a black bow at the waist. This outfit has spaghetti straps with horizontal ruffles over it.

The dress is very tight at the waist, giving a clear illusion of a hourglass figure. The hemline of the dress also ends a little above the knee, which gives the image of longer legs.

The horizontal ruffles make the model's body look more proportionate as it gives more width to the thin body. It also acts as a decoration to the outfit. It is not too attention-grabbing, which is good in this case, as the color of the ruffles are similar to the cream colour of the dress.

The big black bow at the waist gives the dress more lively feel and makes it look more youthful. The dress is made of satin, which makes it look sophisticated.

However, the dress is way out of the league at $133.90.

This dress is very tight-fitting, especially at the waist. This is suitable for thin people, as this accentuates the curves, as well as complimenting on the slim body shape. This creates an almost-hourglass figure and gives the model a sophisticated look.
The hemline of this dress is at the ankle, and this makes it look like an evening gown. The material of the dress is silk, and this allows it to look very formal.

The outfit is a long-sleeved purple top paired with a grey skirt. Both pieces of clothings are plain-canvassed. Although this gives the outfit a more sophisticated look, it also makes it appear too plain. Nonetheless, it is still quite attractive and the colour combination is pleasing.
Both pieces of clothings are dark in color and the dark color enables the model to look slim. The top is made of a silky material and thus, this gives it a chic style.
The skirt is at mid-thigh and this gives the model an illusion of slightly longer legs. The skirt is riffled, so as to give more design to the outfit. However, the material is kind of translucent, and this is not very safe. Moreover, the material is light, so if a wing blows by, the skirt can easily fly up. Thus, it is not very suitable for a formal occasion such as going to a posh restaurant.

After much careful consideration, the favourite have been chosen!

The 1st Choice

The Ice-cream Dress has been chosen as the best choice . It is elegant, youthful, and has the soft feminine look. The dress is made of a satin-like material and the fabric drapes along the body contour, creating a slight hourglass figure.

The ruffles have a pleasant colour combination as they are not too harsh and matches well with the white dress. They stretch across the chest and runs down the side which creates an illusion of a taller figure.The dress ends above the knee, which shows off the legs, making the model's legs seem longer.

The outfit is a tube-dress. It shows off more skin around the shoulders without being inappropriate. By wearing a tube-dress, the model can be seen as taller than her height. Even though this is a tube-dress, it is still very much safe to wear, as the elastic around the chest area is very strong, so that the dress will not fall.

The outfit is suitable as it is formal, yet it maintains the youthfulness. Since it is a teenage girl attending the birthday party, the dress should not be too mature.

At the start of the performance task, I have decided to choose Scenario 1, so I have a rough idea on what i will have to do. I wanted to present this blog as a fashion site where by it helps people to choose correct clothings according to their body shapes. I have done my research and visited some fashion-helping sites, and I found that they usually talk about the style lines, clothing cuts and such. Thus, I felt that it would be the most appropriate way to present my blog.

Searhing for the outfits for this PT was not much of a problem, as I have no objections with dresses, flowery clothings etc. I have always had my own sense of fashion and I am alright with wearing "girly" items. I have went to many shops that sells formal clothings, such as Zara, Vogue, New Look, River Island, Bebe, Uniqlo, BHG and such. I find it easy to search for the appropriate clothings there as they are shops that specifically sell formal wear which are at a good cost. There were many options to choose from and it was not a worry that I would not find something on the racks.

However, the main problem I faced was getting to take pictures of the dress. I did my PT at ION Orchard and the things that the shops sell there are "branded", so the shopkeepers usually kept an eye on everyone in the shop. On my first trip there, I went with my friend and in the end, we did not get anything accomplished. We wore T-shirts and jeans that day while going to ION and when we entered shops such as River Island, we got stares by the shopkeepers and that made us feel very uncomfortable. When we tried to take a picture, we got caught by the shopkeepers, and had to leave the shop. Thus, it was not the day we hoped for.

The next time I went to ION to get my PT done, I decided to wear something formal. Thus, I picked to wear a dress and heels so that I would look more mature and the shopkeepers would not keep eye-ing at me. I figured out what we did wrong on our previous attempts to take the pictures. Because we wore T-shirts and jeans to the high-class shops, we drew unwanted attention to ourselves. In order not to make the same mistakes again, I decided to wear a dress while looking for the outfits. In the end, it worked out perfectly well and no shopkeepers stared at me :D

However, there were exceptions as well. Even though most of the shopkeepers I encountered gave me the disapproving look at first, there were other shopkeepers that were very pushy. Once I have taken the dress from the rack, they all but shoved me nito the fitting room. It was quite uncomfortable for me, but I felt that it was better than being chased out by shopkeepers.

At the same time, I faced many distractions while doing my PT as well. Sometimes, I would come accross gift shops like Precious Thots, and I would be tempted to go in and buy stuff for myself. I was distracted at first, but then I decided to tell myself to focus. So in the end, I finished doing the PT on time.

The problem of whether the dresses looked good on me also came across my mind. Even though some clothings looked fantastic on the models in the shops, but when I tried them on I found that they looked horrible on me. I also had to fret if the clothings were to revealing or inappropriate.

In overall, I enjoyed doing this Performace Task. Although I detest all other PTs, I liked this one a lot. It was great fun to do.
